Lazio: The region of Lazio is home to Rome, the historical, political, and religious center of Italy. Rome dominates most tourism in Lazio because of its world-renown fame for its historic wonders. The Coliseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, the Vatican City, the Pantheon, and other countless attractions dot Rome.Rome however is not the only area of interest.

Tuscany: Tuscany is the artistic, Renaissance, and partially culinary center of Italy. It represents the idyllic postcard photo of rolling hills strewn with parallel rows of vines growing savory grapes used in world-class wine. Tuscany is not just the famed region of Chianti but also home to Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca, and many other beautiful attractions.

Emilia-Romagna: Emilia-Romagna is the relatively undiscovered culinary capital of Italy. The largest city, Bologna is home to gorgeous buildings and hearty-home Italian cooking. Also, Emilia Romagna is famed for being the home to three of the most sought after car manufacturers: Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati!

Veneto: The Veneto is the seafaring center and home to three of the top destinations in Italy: Venice, Verona, and Padua. Venice is known for its stunning canals, St. Marks Square, unique glass and Lido Isle. Verona is the domain of the balcony from Romeo and Juliet. Padua is known as "the city of the saint" and is a UNESCO site that is famous for its massive basilicas.

Apulia: Apulia is the port center of the Adriatic. Bari, the capitol city, is very industrial but is home to a quaint old town that has impressive walls and castles. Outside Bari you can find attractive sights like Castel del Monte and medieval towns such as Ostuni.

Campania: Campania is a region like no other in Italy. The sea dominates the culture which includes both ancient Greek, Renaissance, medieval, and ultra-modern influences. The huge port of Naples is quite grungy but has several highlights. In the immediate outside area, though you can discover hundreds of famous attractions. Such include the stunning Amalfi Coast (my favorite place in Italy), Pompeii and Herculaneum, Paestum, Capri Isle, Mount Vesuvius, and an abundance of beaches. The Amalfi Coast is in my opinion one of the most beautiful places on Earth and is a total shame to miss. Paestum too is a complex of unspoiled Greek temples waiting to be explored.
